Famous surf spots at Thulusdhoo

  • Cokes – Perhaps the most famous surf spot in Thulusdhoo. The cokes is accessible through the iconic brigde of Thulusdhoo. The shallow reef and strong swells of waves makes this surfing spot only suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers
  • Chickens – As silly as the name sounds the spot is a perfect place for novice surfers and long boarders. The Chickens is accessible through a short speedboat ride which only takes about 5 minutes from the island.
  • Ninjas – Here you will find slow breaking waves when compared to other surf points on the list, and can be enjoyed by beginners and novice surfers. If you just starting to learn how to surf, then you know where to look.

Booking a surf trip

Make sure you check in with the guesthouse at the Thulusdhoo as they provide, surf trips, surf camps, lessons, board rentals and even repairs. Surf lessons can cost about $75 while you can rent a surf board for about $35.

When should you go

The surf season is usually from March to October with the peak being between June to August. However, you should know that the best weather is from December to April. Maldives is usually sunny all year round and has an average temperature of about 26 to 32 degree Celsius.

Think palm trees, sandy beaches, azure waters with turquoise lagoon, you walking on the beach with your board one the beach towards the sunset. Certainly a surreal experience.
